so here we are, the middle of december and we have all worked so hard for this final december quilt distribution. we have made altogether 65 quilts for ages 5-18 that by next week will be completely finished and ready for the orphanage in plagiari. we are soooo excited for this event. we have been given permission to give them a christmas party when we hand out the quilts so there is still planning to do:) i have a lot of christmas cookies in the freezer and we will take some sort of punch to share as well. pray for our time this next thursday evening when we come to mind.
i am sorry to report, though, that we have another 25 quilt tops made by the student interns at ball state university that are still out there somewhere in limbo better known as the christmas mail rush. these students were here last spring helping in our studio and when they returned to ball state they committed to making the rest of the nursing home lap quilts for us for christmas. we hoped they would be here in time for me to get them quilted and for all of us to get binded in time for christmas. it doesn't look like we will be able to meet that goal at this point BUT we will get them quilted up as sooon as they arrive and hopefully get the bindings on in time for the new year celebrations:) IN MY NEXT POST I WILL HAVE PICTURES AND HOPEFULLY SOME VIDEOS TO SHARE FROM OUR ORPHANAGE VISIT THIS WEEK!!!! ,
