i was able to get 14 of the quilts quilted with the long arm this week in preparation for the workday and hope to get the bindings sewn on yet tonight. we still have our work cut out for us but the piecing is pretting much accounted for now. not that we wouldn't take more right up to our deadline on the 15th of december. i have recently learned of another group in katarini that supports orphans and it would be nice to send some of our quilts down their way. you can check out their efforts to help orphans (children who are only fatherless in this case) by providing financial resources to the mothers so that the families can stay together. i know they would be glad for our support as well. this effort is being orchestrated by a greek couple and a few others who actually grew up in the same orphanage together. for more information about their unique minstry you can visit their website at: http://benjaminorphans.com/english/index.html. maybe if you can't make a quilt for an orphan this christmas giving financially to this organization would be a nice alternative. sooo, i am posting some more pictures on the home page of some of the quilt tops we have quilted together and 6 that i have yet to get on the machine. i know you must be anxious to see them all. they are so luscious . . . . you can almost taste them the colors are so vivid!! they remind me of sugarplums that dance in your head or bright colored sorbet that makes your mouth water just by thinking of it!! HA! thomas says these babies will never sleep:) but i think they will sleep quilte nicely under these treasures . . . . enjoy the pictures and here is a short video clip for you to enjoy:)
